LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – An armed Las Cruces man who was shot by police in March is now indicted on a felony charge after running from police. Two months ago, police say they received reports of a person firing a gun in a commercial parking lot.
When police tried to confront 19-year-old Gabriel Padilla, he took off running. That’s when he was shot by a Las Cruces Police officer.
Padilla was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon. He will be arraigned on May 19.
