BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — A case pursued by the Cold Case Rape Unit has ended in a conviction, the Office of Bernalillo County District Attorney said in a release.
Enrique Sanchez, of Albuquerque, was accused of second-degree criminal sexual contact of a minor and pleaded no contest. The crime reportedly took place in 2017.
Officials claimed Sanchez sexually abused the 7-year-old child of a woman that was staying on his property.
“It doesn’t matter how cold or old the case is, we will always pursue justice,” said DA Sam Bregman. The release from the DA didn’t say when Sanchez would be sentenced.
