ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – The U.S. Department of Justice says 40-year-old Juan Rodriguez from Roswell has been sentenced to 235 months in prison after exploiting young girls.
In a plea agreement, Rodriguez admitted to using Snapchat to entice a 12-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl. The incidents happened in 2021 and 2022, according to court documents.
Rodriguez admitted to engaging in sexual activity with the girls. After an investigation by the Roswell Police Department and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Rodriguez faced a sex trafficking charge in federal court.
Now that he has pled guilty to enticement of a minor, Rodriguez will serve prison time without the possibility of parole. Afterwards, he will have to serve 10 years of supervised release, and he will have to register as a sex offender.
