He’s facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the shooting death of Kevin Moore. According to the criminal complaint, Trujillo’s friend called his dad to help out when his car broke down near Walter and Coal on June 14.

His friend’s dad and uncle, Kevin Moore, came to help. While they were repairing a tire, Trujillo threw a rock through a nearby car. Moore told him to stop and Trujillo shot him four times killing him.

The state asked for Trujillo to be locked up through his trial based on the violent nature of the crime. Trujillo is claiming self-defense. Judge Loveless granted the state’s motion.
