Students at an Albuquerque elementary school given laptops and accessories

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The DiverseIT team with Adelante Development Center was at Edward Gonzales Elementary School on Thursday giving out free laptops to low-income students. They also trained the students on how to safely use those laptops.

“There is a huge digital divide here in New Mexico where a lot of people lack access to computers. That’s what we do at Diverse IT, so to increase the number of people that have access to devices as well as training and technology. So its very important work, you know, people who have been excluded from technology get that access,” said Jill Beets, Adelante Development Center.
