The eastern plains will be about 5 to 10 degrees warmer today than yesterday. More storms are expected to pop up in the northern mountains and northeast highlands this afternoon. Storms will move east toward Texas, and a couple of storms may be severe in the northeast highlands and far east-central plains, with threats of damaging wind, large hail and tornadoes. Another cold front will move into eastern NM on Friday morning. This will cool temperatures 5 to 10 degrees in the east plains for Friday. It will also distribute low level moisture further west, which will lead to an uptick in storm activity across the east and a wider area in the severe storm threat Friday afternoon and evening.
