ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man changed his plea in connection with the death of his infant daughter three years ago.
Adam Garcia pleaded no contest to child abuse resulting in death in court Wednesday morning. Officers were called to the University of New Mexico Hospital in February 2022 after Garcia’s 5-month-old daughter was taken to the hospital with a brain bleed.
She died about a month later. According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the baby had several other injuries on her body, and the autopsy results stated she died from blunt head trauma and that the manner of death was homicide.
Garcia’s sentencing is set for July 3, according to court records.
