ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque mom is seeking justice for her teen son who was gunned down at a house party nearly three years ago. Diana Villarreal is looking for answers about the murder of her son Alejandro. The 18-year-old was one of dozens at a South Valley house party near Pajarito and Isleta on Halloween in 2021.
Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said they don’t know what exactly happened, but around 2 a.m. someone started a fight. surveillance video captured the chaos as party-goers ran for cover. In the aftermath, four people at the party were injured and two people were killed on the scene including Villarreal.
Investigators say witness interviews haven’t led to any arrests so far. Hoping more witnesses will come forward, Villarreal’s family has poured thousands in their own money to increase the Crime Stoppers reward to $9,000. “It hurts that no one’s come forward,” said Diana Villarreal. “To me, it feels like um his life isn’t valued because they are not stepping up to speak.”
Diana Villarreal said her son was a loving person with aspirations of becoming an electrical or contractor. She’s hoping someone can help detectives. Anyone with any information can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at (505) 843-STOP (7867) or go to p3tips.com/531.
