Albuquerque police arrest shoplifting offender, charge two juveniles for 22 separate incidents

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department arrested a prolific shoplifting offender who is known in the retail community. APD’s Organized Crime Unit arrested 35-year-old Deanna Gonzales on April 23.

Police say a detective recognized Gonzales from three separate incidents and was able to aggregate the three incidents to a felony level. Gonzales is accused of stealing nearly $700 worth of merchandise from Target.

APD also charged two juvenile’s who are accused of being involved in a string of shoplifting offenses and other crimes at Alberton’s stores around the city. The suspects, ages 15 and 16, are accused in 22 separate incidents where they worked together to steal thousands of dollars in liquor. Police say the suspects are already in custody for several other violent felony cases.
