Netflix has released the official Blue Box trailer for its newest coming-of-age romance anime, based on Kouji Miura’s original manga series of the same name. The series is scheduled to start streaming on October 4, 2024.

What happens in the Blue Box trailer?
The video introduces a young badminton player who develops a crush on the girls’ basketball team’s rising star Chinatsu Kano, who’s a year older than him. The trailer provides viewers with a glimpse of their budding romance while highlighting the main characters’ sports club activities.
Blue Box features the voices of Shoya Chiba as Taiki Inomata, Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano, Akari Kito as Hina Chono, Chiaki Kobayashi as Kyo Kasahara, Yuma Uchida as Kengo Haryu, and more. The anime is directed by Yuichiro Yano from a screenplay written by Yuko Kakihara. The creative team includes character designer Miho Tanino, color designer Narumi Konno, art director Ounoou Fujii, cinematographer Yuki Kawashita, and editor Yoshihiro Kasahara. It is a production by Telecom Animation Film.
“Taiki Inomata is a freshman in the boys’ badminton team at sports powerhouse Eimei Private High School,” reads the synopsis. “He has this long-time crush on the basketball rising star Chinatsu Kano, the older girl he trains alongside every morning in the gym. One day, their relationship takes a sharp turn … And thus begins this brand-new series of romance, sports and youth!”
