Anyone heading to Hollywood Burbank Airport to get on a plane will run into delays due to a staffing shortage. The airport will have no air traffic controllers this evening, the Federal Aviation Administration warned.
Gov. Gavin Newsom blamed President Donald Trump and his administration for the staffing shortage, saying the delays were caused by the federal government shutdown.
KTLA 5 reports, “There have been increased staffing shortages across the system,” an agency spokesperson said. “When that happens, the FAA slows traffic into some airports to ensure safe operations.”
The FAA warned that delays of 30 to 45 minutes are possible due to the lack of air-traffic controllers.
