After the heavy booing in the first day of Coldplay concert in Romania, Manele singer Babasha sang again with Coldplay during the second concert at the National Arena in Bucharest, this time being welcomed with applause instead of booing.
During Coldplay’s second concert in Bucharest, lead singer Chris Martin engaged with the audience at the National Arena, expressing his unconditional love for them. He then asked the crowd to boo him for “three seconds better than yesterday.” Following this, he announced that the young singer would perform a ‘manele’ song on Wednesday.
“I was shocked, sad and angry,” Chris Martin said at the start of Thursday’s concert. But he accepted that there are different cultures and that they, who travel everywhere, cannot possibly understand them all. But he insisted that “People must be treated equally and that’s what Romanians deserve”.
Babasha took the stage and performed, accompanied by Chris Martin. People danced. There were no whistles, on the contrary, long applause. At the end of the reinterpreted manea, Chris Martin and the other members of the band came and hugged the young Romanian singer. “Thank you, you are the best audience ever,” said Chris Martin.
