ESPN’s ‘SportsCenter’ is hitting the road to film in Albuquerque, cities across America

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – ESPN is taking its flagship news and information program, “SportsCenter” on a cross-country journey and will be making a stop to film in Albuquerque this summer.

“SportsCenter: 50 States in 50 Days”—a “nationwide tour designed to bring coverage directly to fans across America—will include a mix of live on-site shows and storytelling segments from a different state each day for 50 consecutive days, according to ESPN.

The tour kicks off on June 27 in Washington, D.C., with a special edition hosted by Scott Van Pelt, and then on July 2, Anchor Christine Williamson will be covering the Albuquerque Isotopes game against the El Paso Chihuahuas at RGCU Field at Isotopes Park.

The broadcast from the stadium will start at noon MT, which is the same time the game will begin.

“SportsCenter: 50 States in 50 Days” will conclude on Aug. 16 with Anchor Kevin Negandhi broadcasting live from the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

This is first time in 20 years that “SportsCenter” has embarked a cross-country tour of this scale. The original 2005 SportsCenter Across America effort inspired this go-around, which ESPN said will be “reimagined for a digital-first audience and reflecting ESPN’s commitment to both physical and digital fan engagement ahead of the company’s direct-to-consumer launch later this year.”
