Jon Jones retires from UFC

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jon Jones time in the UFC has come to an end. On Saturday, UFC CEO and president Dana White announced in a press conference that Jones has informed him on his retirement.

With the announcement, Jones has vacated his title as the UFC heavyweight champion. Jones, 37, ends his career with a 28-1 (11 KO) record.

During Jones accomplished career, “Bones” was 16-1 in title fights with one no-contest. His one loss was due to disqualification. He fought primarily in the light heavyweight division before transitioning to heavyweight. Jones’ 16 wins in title fights is the most in UFC history.

A native of Rochester, New York, Jones has lived and trained in Albuquerque for the majority of his professional career.
