[1] VIDEO: Victim of May road rage incident records encounter – New video shows the moment a road rage incident unfolded in front of a New Mexico State Police Officer. Police say Paul Marquez fired shots at another vehicle on Paseo Del Norte in Albuquerque. An NMSP officer witnessed the shooting, pulled Marquez over and took him into custody. Marquez is now facing two aggravated assault charges and a charge for shooting from his vehicle.

[2] Albuquerque Fire Rescue says park space will be part of new fire facility – Coronado Park, near I-40 and 3rd St. has been fenced off since 2022 when the city cleared out a massive homeless encampment. Albuquerque Fire Rescue now has plans of building of training center at the park. Last year, city council passed a resolution forcing AFR to also build a half-acre park at the site. Plans will be reviewed by a City Commission next month. AFR says it is still trying to finalize funding for the entire site. However, they’re hopeful to break ground on at least part of the project by the winter

[3] Hotter temperatures with more storms in eastern New Mexico – Temperatures will be warming up today, with highs in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The eastern plains will be about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. More storms will pop up in the northern mountains and east mountains this afternoon. Storms will move east toward Texas, and a couple of storms may be severe in the northeast highlands and far east-central plains, with threats of damaging wind, large hail and tornadoes.

[4] Albuquerque Sunport looking for more applicants for Ascend ABQ program – The City of Albuquerque is looking for vendors to take part in the Ascend ABQ Program that offers local artisans and micro businesses vendor spaces at the Sunport. Under the program businesses will pay $1,000 up front for signage and advertising and then 10% of their monthly sales. The city says they haven’t gotten as many applicants as they were hoping. The city hopes to get at least 150 applicants before they select who will initially take part.

[5] Albuquerque teen wins contest for dog toy invention – Students at Desert Ridge Middle School were asked to make a cat or dog toy that cost under $20 and then explain why their toy should be on the market. 13-year-old Joseph Lazar created a doggy water ball. Judges for the competition chose Lazar’s design and awarded him with $5,000. Future Engineers LLC, the sponsor, will be manufacturing and selling his design.
