The Los Angeles Unified School District will resume classes at alternative locations today, January 15, for students at schools that were impacted by the Southland wildfires.
Students from Palisades Charter Elementary School will attend classes starting Wednesday at Brentwood Science Magnet Elementary School. Students from Marquez Charter Elementary will have classes at Nora Sterry Elementary.

“Schools will have a regular day, as teachers have worked around the clock to prepare classrooms,” according to the district.
Students from seven other schools that closed will also temporarily relocate to other sites:
— Topanga Elementary students will move to Woodland Hills Academy;
— Canyon Charter Elementary will move to Brockton Elementary School;
— Kenter Canyon Elementary to Emerson Middle School;
— Lanai Road Elementary to Portola Middle School;
— Roscomare Road Elementary to Warner Elementary School;
— Community Charter Magnet to Westwood Elementary School; and
— Paul Revere Middle to University High School Charter.
Assuming conditions “remain the same or improve,” the LAUSD will also resume outdoor activities, including physical education, athletics, recess, nutrition and lunch. Field trips could resume by Thursday.
Meal distributions will continue to be offered from 9 a.m. to noon at Webster Middle School, according to the district.
All Santa Monica campuses in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District opened Monday except for Roosevelt Elementary School, which reopened Tuesday. All Malibu campuses in the district will remain closed through Wednesday.
All schools in the Pasadena Unified School District will be closed through at least Friday.
