Maisy Stella Goes on a Formative Shroom Trip in ‘My Old Ass’ Trailer

“The only thing you can’t get back is time. It goes by so fast.” Amazon MGM Studios has revealed an official trailer for an indie coming-of-age dramedy titled My Old Ass, which first premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, also showing at the Provincetown & Sydney Film Fests. It’s the latest feature from Canadian filmmaker Megan Park, produced by Margot Robbie, and set / shot up in Canada following a young woman at the end of her time living at home before she heads to university. A mushroom trip brings free-spirited Elliott face-to-face with her 39-year-old self – starring Aubrey Plaza as the “older” version of herself. But when Elliott’s “old ass” delivers warnings, Elliott realizes she has to rethink everything about family, life, and love. She ends up tumbling into a romance with a worker boy named Chad, played by Percy Hynes White. My Old Ass stars Maisy Stella as Elliott, with Maddie Ziegler, Kerrice Brooks, Maria Dizzia, and Al Goulem. This has a different vibe than you might be expecting, it’s not really a time travel film, it’s more of a heartfelt coming-of-age flick made in Canada about respecting the process of growing up. // Continue Reading ›
