New Mexico groups holding back-to-school drive for local distribution

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department, the district attorney, and the U.S. Attorney for New Mexico are teaming up to make sure kids have the supplies they need for the upcoming school year.

Officials are hosting a “Fill the Bus” donation drive through July 19. You can drop off notebooks, pens and pencils, backpacks, clothes, and other items at APD’s headquarters on Roma.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The nonprofit Locker 505 will distribute the supplies at Hyder Park on July 27.
