Police arrest two people accused of carjacking local judge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Two suspects are in custody, accused of carjacking Metro Court Judge Claire McDaniel in front of her Albuquerque home Wednesday morning.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue says park space will be part of new fire facility

According to a criminal complaint, Joshua Dawson and Daniella Sandoval threatened Judge McDaniel with a BB gun and stealing her car. The complaint says McDaniel was loading her kids in the car when the suspects approached with the gun and took the vehicle. Detectives later found the car at home near Old Coors and Central.

During questioning Sandoval told detectives the pair were stranded and needed a ride, that’s when they decided to steal a car. Police say both the suspects have had cases in front of Judge McDaniel within the last year, but there is no indication they targeted her.
