Public meeting set for 2024 bond package for Bernalillo County

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – On Monday, June 10, the county is inviting the public to learn more about the 2024 general obligation (GO) bond proposals. The meeting will be from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at the Ken Sanchez Commissioner Chambers (415 Silver Ave. SW, Albuquerque NM 87102).

Proposed bonds include:

$1.5 million for new library book and material acquisition

$11.5 million for public safety, equipment and building upgrades

$10.9 million for parks and recreation

$11.4 million for roads, traffic, and transportation upgrades

$4.4 million for storm drainage and utilities

$1.1 million for housing

The meeting will also share information on the six-year Capital Improvement Plan. The plan sets up the county’s priorities for long-term improvements. Currently, the county has 114 active projects underway.
