Residents voice frustration over Roswell water bill hike

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – It was a packed house at the Roswell City Council Thursday night with residents voicing their frustration over the skyrocketing cost of water. The city changed the utility rates to the tiered system in July.

Residents saw their water bills triple in some cases. Thursday night, the city council considered an amendment to lower prices.

With that amendment, residents would pay just three and a half dollars per 1,000 gallons of water. A decision was not made Thursday night. The council will hold a hearing on additional charges.
