Parts of New Mexico saw there first snowfall of the season this morning. The snow and rain are expected to continue through the rest of the day.
Our latest fall low pressure system is moving its way out of New Mexico today. In the meantime, it is bringing the state a mix of precipitation. The Albuquerque Metro to the Northern Mountains saw flurries to accumulating snowfall this morning. The snow in the metro has transitioned to a rain as the day progresses. Up in north and northeast New Mexico snow accumulations have caused multiple road closures. Southern and southeastern New Mexico are only seeing rain today due to the warm temperatures. The storm will continue to move towards the northeast today, bringing the precipitation with it.

Tuesday is looking warmer and drier across New Mexico. For most of the day the state can expect sunny and dry conditions. Tuesday night more rain and snow will creep into the northwest and northern mountains with another low pressure system.
New Mexico’s next fall storm system will make its way to the state by Wednesday morning. The low pressure will move across the state on Thursday and Friday. This next storm will bring nearly statewide precipitation Wednesday through Friday. A mixture of rain and snow is expected in the valleys. More snow accumulation is expected in the mountains.
