ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting multiple child victims nearly ten years ago. Jesus Soriano-Govea, 66, allegedly assaulted victims from his wife’s daycare business.
Police say they were contacted by a victim who reported she had been sexually abused by her babysitter’s husband nearly ten years prior. Detectives learned the victim was being babysat by a woman and her husband, Soriano-Govea. The victim told detectives that Soriano-Govea took her into a bedroom of the residence, locked the door and sexually assaulted her. Through investigation, authorities became aware of other potential victims. Detectives were able to interview two other victims who had similar stories of Soriano-Govea taking them into a room, locking the door and sexually assaulting them. One of the victims claimed Soriano-Govea would offer them money to go into his room. An additional victim was interviewed and said Soriano-Govea would offer her money to go inside his bedroom.
Police arrested Soriano-Govea, who faces multiple charges, including criminal sexual contact of a minor. APD believes there could be more victims of Soriano-Govena. Anyone who is a victim or has more information is asked to contact APD’s Sex Crime Unit or call (505) 242-COPS.
