Tinmar Foundation supports the performance of students in Bucharest: 865 merit scholarships for children from sector 2

The Tinmar Foundation continues its mission in the field of education by expanding the “Education for the Future – Tinmar Foundation Scholarships” program in the Capital, announcing the award of 865 merit scholarships for students from Sector 2 of Bucharest, totaling 1,730,000 lei.

The initiative comes as a recognition of the remarkable academic results obtained by the students involved, but also as a concrete support for families who want to support their children in continuing their studies. The scholarship awarding event took place at one of the representative educational institutions in Sector 2, in the presence of representatives of the Tinmar Foundation, coordinating teachers, students and their parents.

According to the most recent data from Romania, over 23,000 students drop out of school each year, and the average annual cost per student borne by parents has increased considerably. At the same time, one in three families report having difficulty covering education expenses, especially for textbooks, uniforms, transportation and extracurricular activities. In Bucharest, although the educational offer is diverse, the differences between schools in the sectors and unequal access to resources continue to represent a challenge. In Sector 2, where a large part of the students come from families with modest incomes, the need for financial support remains significant. Through this program, we directly address those students with potential, but at risk, and offer concrete support so that education remains a real chance for them.

“Education remains one of the main directions of our social involvement. Through these scholarships, we want to give students the confidence that their performance is recognized and rewarded. It is important for them to know that their work has value and that there are organizations that believe in their potential,” said Filip Ovidiu, vice president of the Tinmar Foundation.

The “Education for the Future” program is a national initiative that aims to provide equal access to opportunities for students from all backgrounds. Through this project, the Tinmar Foundation contributes to reducing school dropout, encouraging academic performance and developing a generation of confident and responsible young people.

“In Sector 2 we have a community of ambitious children who deserve all our support. The Tinmar Foundation offers them a real chance to continue their education in the best conditions, and this has a positive impact not only on them, but also on the entire community,” said a representative of the School Inspectorate of Bucharest.

The expansion of the program in Bucharest confirms the Tinmar Foundation’s commitment to education as a pillar of the development of a fair and prosperous society. After the stages in Prahova and Gorj counties, in which over 3,000 students have already benefited from support, the foundation continues to invest in the training of young people, recognizing the importance of education as an engine of sustainable progress.

Through each edition of the “Education for the Future – Tinmar Foundation Scholarships” program, the organization contributes to building a Romania in which education is a real priority and a source of positive change for communities.
