ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Community members came together Saturday morning to get their hands on some big, expensive vehicles at the 4th Annual Touch-a-Truck event. The parking lot on the corner of Juan Tabo and Central was full of vehicles of all sorts, and safely turned off so that the kiddos could get close enough to touch.
“It’s important to get people out here to see what our city has to offer. Who knows, we might have some future firefighters that get inspired by today’s event. Police officers, even working at the airpost, those are really fun equipment. And of course, the trash truck is a big hit,” says City Councilor Rene Grout.
The event goes beyond just traditional vehicles. Visitors got to get their grubby little hands on some horses. Some drones from Kirtland Air Force Base and even some robots.
