UCLA women’s basketball adds transfer forward Janiah Barker to roster

UCLA women’s basketball has landed another highly skilled transfer in 6-foot-4 forward Janiah Barker, who just concluded her sophomore season at Texas A&M.

“4s up in the LAnd,” Barker said in an announcement on Instagram.

Barker averaged 12.2 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game with a season-high 21 points against LSU in February. She also added 38 steals and had 20 blocks for the Aggies, who lost in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

UCLA has gone to the transfer portal this offseason to replace the all-around production of guard Charisma Osborne, who was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury. The Bruins have added Oregon State transfer forward Timea Gardiner and Washington State transfer guard Charlisse Leger-Walker.
