Warmer temperatures, with storms in eastern New Mexico

Tuesday morning is clear, milder and calm. For most of the state, it will be a sunny day, with light winds and warmer temperatures. Temperatures will climb today, thanks to high pressure, and 80s, 90s and 100s are back in the forecast. It is going to be a hot day and a warmer than normal week ahead. Plan around the heat by getting outside for activities during the cooler, morning hours. A cold front will move into eastern New Mexico on Wednesday, which will drop temperatures by about ten degrees in the east plains.

A couple of storms could also pop up in the east plains around that time. The storms will move east toward Texas, and could become severe, with large hail and damaging wind gusts. This will take place through about 9 PM.
