ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque’s newest splash pad is up and running with people already enjoying it. City officials and families were at the Westgate Community Center to celebrate the facility’s new expansion. That expansion includes the splash pad, multipurpose rooms, a kitchen, and some classroom space for kids.
“We’re standing in the expanded meeting rooms. This is a full meeting room, but it also splits into two. We’ll be hosting senior meals in here, we’ll be hosting all sorts of different classes. Like music classes, art classes, we have a creative writing class starting,” said Community Service Division Manager Cristin Chavez-Smith.
Non-locals can get a community center membership and take advantage of all the classes and events as well.
