- April 25-26 The Show – Albuquerque’s longest-running comedy show happens every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.
- April 25-26 Annual Spring Plant Sale – Visit Los Altos Park on Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. or Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a diverse range of homegrown heirloom tomatoes, annuals, perennials, herbs, and locally sourced bedding plants.
- April 26 Spring at the Marketplace 2025 – From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., shop locally curated home decor, sip craft coffee, tour the Poulin Design Center, and talk to solar experts.
- April 26 Downtown Growers’ Market – Visit Albuquerque’s longest-running farmers’ market for the largest selection of local farmers providing fresh produce, eggs, honey, meats, local goods, hot prepared foods on-site, and handmade art, crafts, and body care products. Every Saturday from April to mid-November, enjoy live music starting at 10 a.m.
- April 26 Marble Brewery’s 17th Anniversary Party – Celebrate 17 years at Marble Downtown with live music, local vendors, food trucks, and a special beer release. Tickets are $10 and the event is from 12 to 11:30 p.m.
- April 26 Día Del Niño at the NHCC – Celebrate community youth with a petting zoo, performances from Voces de Coronado and Ballet Folklorico Fiesta Mexicana, student films, and a youth art market. Learn about birds and bugs with the U.S. Forest Service, make art, play, climb a rock wall, and discover a variety of community resources from the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science, UNM Early Childhood Services Center, Explora, New Mexico PBS, Kids Cook, Bernalillo County Public Library, and more. This free event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- April 26 Winrock Artisan Market – Visit Winrock Park every Saturday for a one-of-a-kind market experience. This market is pet-friendly, with local artisans, food trucks, live entertainment, and family fun. It starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m.
- April 26-27 Expo New Mexico Flea Market – Check out the food, vendors, and live entertainment at New Mexico’s largest open-air market. The market runs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $2 for walk-ups and $10 per car for parking.
- April 27 Abitha’s Anniversary Spiritual Faire – Abitha’s Metaphysical Shop celebrates 37 years of service with local vendors, mediums, psychics, healers, spiritual practitioners, and more. This event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- April 27 South Valley Pride Day 2025 – Come join the fun, beginning with a parade at 11 a.m., followed by fiesta activities from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Westside Community Center. There will be plenty of fun for kids and families with jumpers, a car show, great food, plus arts and crafts vendors, and more.

- April 26 McKinley County DWI Program Annual Awareness Fun Run/Walk – April is Alcohol Awareness Month, and Gallup is raising awareness with every step. The event starts at 9 a.m., and registration is available online.
- April 26 Otero County Farmer’s Market – Check out the only year-round farmers market in the area with many local farmers, crafters, bakers, and more, exclusively from Otero County. This event occurs every Saturday from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
- April 26 25th Anniversary Earth Day Festival – Join Pajarito Environmental Education Center in Los Alamos to celebrate Earth Day at this exciting event. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., enjoy a day of entertainment, food, activities, informational booths, and more.
- April 26-27 Kite Festival 2025 – Visit Los Alamos for elementary school workshops, kite building and flying at Overlook Park, community events and lectures with partners like the Los Alamos Library and Los Alamos STEAM lab, and collaborations with artists to create beautiful kites to display in community buildings. The event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
- April 27 Charcuterie Class at the Belen Harvey House Museum – This Charcuterie Class will be a fundraiser for the teen room at the Belen Public Library. Each ticket includes charcuterie supplies and food items for the board. This is a 13+ event starting at 2 p.m.
- April 27 Organ Mountain Sunday Market – The newest market in town takes place off Highway 70 in Las Cruces. Come check out weekly vendors, food trucks, retailers, and more for themed markets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

🔶 New Flix Brewhouse location in northeast Albuquerque to open in May – Another Flix Brewhouse movie theater is coming to Albuquerque in the Foothills, and those doors are getting very close to opening. The new Tramway Blvd. location is scheduled to open during the first week of May.
🔶 Albuquerque student clothing drive being held in early May – Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and Locker #505 Student Clothing Bank are partnering up to hold the 13th annual Recyclothes Clothing Donation Drive. Locals are asked to bring gently-used clothes for K-12 students.
🔶 City of Albuquerque launches online public restroom map – The City of Albuquerque has launched a new online map showing the locations of public restrooms.
🔶 Albuquerque community centers to start ‘lottery-style’ registration for summer programs – Community centers across Albuquerque are offering all-day summer programming for ages five through 15. The high demand for these programs calls for a lottery-style registration process that opens on April 28.
🔶 Great Ape-ril Adult Night at the ABQ BioPark – While the weather forced the ABQ BioPark to postpone one of their Great Ape-ril discovery days from Saturday to next weekend, there’s another surprise for older guests next week as well.
🔶 Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance celebrates 65th year – The Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA) is a public charity that aims to grow and diversify the economic base of Albuquerque.
🔶 Could a new improvement district help clean up downtown Albuquerque? – Downtown Albuquerque business owners are looking at an idea that could see property owners paying into a special fund to help spruce up the area and add more security. It’s still in the planning stages, but organizers say the idea is to give businesses more of a say in making downtown look nicer and addressing problems like vandalism, panhandling, and littering.
🔶 City of Albuquerque turns to AI to help warn drivers of pedestrians on Central – With more deadly crashes on Central Ave., the City of Albuquerque is now turning to AI to help warn drivers when people are crossing the street. The city’s Pedestrian Activated Warning System, or what they call “PAWS,” is adding AI-powered lights on Central Ave. near Louisiana Blvd. That system recognizes when someone is walking across driving lanes, activating special lights to warn drivers.
🔶 Bosque School receives 10 3D printers for student use – A private school in Albuquerque got to tear into some fun new toys on Wednesday. Bosque School students will now have access to 3D printers, donated by Polymaker. The printers will support the school’s STEAM program.

🔶 New Mexico Department of Game and Fish to host Bowhunter Skills Camp – The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish has an opportunity for those interested in learning the basics of archery and bowhunting. On Saturday, May 17, at Manzano Mountain State Park, the department is hosting its Bowhunter Skills Camp.
🔶 New Mexico offering Route 66 Centennial celebration grants – For the second year, the New Mexico Tourism Department is offering communities an opportunity to invest in special events and improvements for the upcoming 100th anniversary of Route 66. The Route 66 Centennial Grant Program started in 2024 and resulted in $1.5 million on grants awarded to nine communities.
🔶 Registration open for warm-water fishing workshop in Roswell – Registration has begun for a beginner warm-water fishing workshop by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish in Roswell early next month. Adults over 18 with limited fishing experience are welcome to participate.
🔶 Feedback sought for potential oil and gas leases in New Mexico – The Bureau of Land Management is looking for public input on oil and gas leases in New Mexico. A 30-day public comment period is now open for community members to respond to the state office’s plans to include 21 oil and gas leases, totaling nearly 9,000 acres.
🔶 Latest investments in New Mexico’s outdoor recreation – Better access to outdoor resources and improved trails could soon be coming to New Mexico, especially in more rural parts of the state. State outdoor leaders explain how the governor’s latest approvals will enhance recreation in New Mexico.
🔶 Group sues to stop wastewater discharge in northern New Mexico – The group Protect Tesuque held a town hall on Wednesday about its efforts to stop the Bishop Lodge Resort’s new wastewater treatment facility from discharging 30,000 gallons of partially treated wastewater per day near Little Tesuque Creek and upstream of community wells.
🔶 Trade school ‘RioTECH’ opens in Rio Rancho – It’s a new school opening up in the metro area, promising to make more students into top-tier welders, carpenters, and other trade professionals. It’s an effort to boost New Mexico’s future workforce; the new career technical education high school called RioTECH is promising to give teens skills in trade fields such as carpentry, plumbing, welding, and even cybersecurity.
🔶 Judge allows New Mexico’s lawsuit against Snapchat to move forward – A judge has allowed New Mexico’s lawsuit against Snapchat’s parent company to move forward. The lawsuit claims the social media platform’s disappearing messages and unmoderated content discovery features make it easier for predators to target children.
🔶 New Mexico Tech student sues DHS, ICE after visa revoked – A New Mexico Tech student from Ghana is suing the Department of Homeland Security and ICE after he said his visa was revoked. According to the lawsuit, the student, identified in court filings as KOD, learned about the revocation from university officials two weeks ago. The visa was not set to expire until 2028.
🔶 New Mexico AG joins 10 other states in lawsuit to stop tariffs – New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez announced on Wednesday that he is joining 10 other states’ attorneys general in a lawsuit to block the Trump Administration’s tariffs. The lawsuit argues that Congress alone has the authority to implement tariffs and that emergency powers used by Trump to implement tariffs were used incorrectly.
