- May 16-17 The Show – Albuquerque’s longest-running comedy show happens every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.
- May 17 Bowhunter Skills Camp – The camp is open to people of all ages, but those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The event will cover archery basics and safety, how to choose equipment, proper shot placement, outdoor preparedness, and more.
- May 17 Sandia Spring Roll Roller Derby Event – Join Expo New Mexico for a full day of roller derby hosted by the Los Alamos Cherry Bombs. There will be a round robin with three high-level junior roller derby games, a level 2 game, and an adult mashup game. Tickets are $15.
- May 17 Downtown Growers’ Market – Visit Albuquerque’s longest-running farmers’ market for the largest selection of local farmers providing fresh produce, eggs, honey, meats, local goods, hot prepared foods on-site, and handmade art, crafts, and body care products. Every Saturday from April to mid-November, enjoy live music starting at 10 a.m.
- May 17 Sidewalk Sale & Block Party – From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., shop NM United merch for as low as $5. There will also be a block party with local food vendors, live music, official partners, and more.
- May 17 Winrock Artisan Market – Visit Winrock Park every Saturday for a one-of-a-kind market experience. This market is pet-friendly, with local artisans, food trucks, live entertainment, and family fun. It starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m.
- May 17-18 Boots In The Park – Boots In The Park is back and bigger than ever, ready to take over Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque for an unforgettable weekend. - May 17 Bee City Los Alamos Native Plant Sale – Bee City Los Alamos is hosting a Native Plant Sale Fundraiser at the Los Alamos Nature Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funds will be used to support Bee City Los Alamos and its efforts to promote and protect local pollinators.
- May 17 Otero County Farmer’s Market – Check out the only year-round farmers market in the area with many local farmers, crafters, bakers, and more, exclusively from Otero County. This event occurs every Saturday from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
- May 17 Rio Rancho’s Biggest Yard Sale – Its time to clean out the garage, spare bedroom, attic and shed. Come to Cabezon Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and sell all of those items that were collecting dust, find a new treasure, and enjoy a day in the park. 🔶 Up to $7,500 in project funding available through Bernalillo County Neighborhood Grant Program – Bernalillo County is now accepting applications for its neighborhood grant program. Through the program, neighborhood associations can receive up to $7,500 to improve their community.
🔶 ABQ RIDE holds summer resource fairs through late August – ABQ RIDE is holding multiple resource fairs at Alvarado Transportation Center over the summer. They’ll be sharing resources like open space maps, recovery and housing materials, community center program calendars, and ways to sign up for different local activities.
🔶 ‘It energizes downtown’: Albuquerque Food Truck Fridays bring variety to Civic Plaza – From March to November, various food trucks gather at Civic Plaza every Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s part of a program ran by the City of Albuquerque through the One Albuquerque Initiative.
🔶 Fireworks and City Roots game highlight upcoming Albuquerque Isotopes schedule – The Albuquerque Isotopes are back in the Duke City this week, taking on the Tacoma Rainiers. This homestand features Asian American Pacific Islander Night, a City Roots game, fireworks and more.
🔶 Free, family-friendly water safety day hosted by City of Albuquerque – To help families learn more about water safety ahead of summer, the City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a national water safety day event. The free and family-friendly event will be May 18, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Eisenhower Pool.
🔶 New Mexico United hosting ‘APS Schools Out’ night on June 7 – Summer break is less than a month away, and New Mexico United is helping students and staff celebrate the end of the school year. The APS Schools Out 2025 will take place on June 7 during the United match against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
🔶 Bernalillo County Isleta Boulevard Corridor Project slated to begin in fall 2025 – The next phase of the Isleta Boulevard Corridor Project was approved by the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday evening. The project aims to make improvements to the corridor from Mapais Road SW to Luchetti Road SW from Isleta Boulevard.

🔶 Applications to open for 2026 Small Business Innovation Research Matching Grant – Applications will soon be accepted for the Fiscal Year 2026 New Mexico Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Matching Grant. The state-funded grant is open to New Mexico-based companies already involved in Phase I or II of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBTT) federal programs.

🔶 New Mexico State University professor produces horror film starring Al Pacino – A Las Cruces movie theater will hold a special screening of Al Pacino’s new horror flick, and a New Mexico State University professor played a huge role in getting it made. Ross Marks, a professor at NMSU’s Creative Media Institute, served as a producer on The Ritual, a film based on the last official ordained exorcism on American soil. It also stars Dan Stevens of Downton Abbey fame and Patricia Heaton.
