- May 9-10 The Show – Albuquerque’s longest-running comedy show happens every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.

🔶 ECHL approves pro hockey team in Rio Rancho – A minor professional hockey team is coming to Rio Rancho, the ECHL announced Friday. The New Mexico Professional Hockey Club will begin play in the 2026-27 season at the Rio Rancho Events Center.
🔶 Free rides on the New Mexico justice train – Benevides, Perea, and Acosta are just three examples of repeat criminal defendants who escaped justice multiple times, not because they’re lucky, but because they’re mentally ill. Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman said the criminal justice system is “absolutely not” working in how it handles mentally ill individuals who commit crimes.

🔶 Curry County infant tests positive for measles – The New Mexico Department of Health confirmed the first measles case in Curry County on Wednesday. NMDOH said an infant who was too young to receive protective vaccination contracted the virus.
🔶 Delinquent property tax auctions scheduled in four New Mexico counties – The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department is holding upcoming delinquent property tax auctions in Cibola, McKinley, Quay and Taos counties. These auctions take place when both the county and state are unable to collect delinquent taxes on properties.

The “5-3-1 visibility method” can help the public estimate air quality based on how far they can see during a wildfire.
