Persistent upper-level south-southwesterly winds with a low pressure moving near the region from the west with a high pressure moving east, will combine to squeeze out one more push of moisture in the form of rounds of Monsoonal thunderstorms across western parts of the region through the higher elevations especially into Southern New Mexico. Burn-scar flash flooding is very possible to very likely around the burn scars with localized flooding most likely along the Central Mountains to Southeast New Mexico, while more storms will fire off in the Four Corners, as well as parts of the Rio Grande Valley. Some thick cloud cover will allow temperatures to remain below normal today with most reaching the 70s and 80s with almost all southern areas not reaching 90 degrees, while some highly-elevated areas or northern areas won’t get out of the 60s.
Moist air will mostly just continue for today as the pendulum swing pattern of muggy mornings with breezy easterly winds shifting to southwesterly drier winds in the afternoons forming storms to the east will still continue though. Hotter and drier weather then will return this 4th of July Weekend before more storms fire off late this weekend into early next week for some.
