NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Winds will start picking up again early this week. Westerly winds will bring in even warmer temperatures Monday and Tuesday afternoon, with highs well above average for this time of year.

Unfortunately, the winds will gust as high as 30 to 55 mph on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. This will bring a high fire danger back to the state, especially across southern New Mexico. A cold front will also sweep across the state Tuesday night, bringing high temperatures back down to around average again by Thursday.
