3% Announce 2024 Tour

Fresh off the back of releasing their debut album, KILL THE DEAD, today (August 9), First Nations hip-hop collective 3% have announced their 2024 tour – which kicks off tonight.

The tour comes in support of their new LP, beginning with a gig at Darwin’s Mayberry tonight, before a much-anticipated performance tomorrow (August 10) at the 20th anniversary of the National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs) in Larrakia/Darwin – where they’ve been nominated for two awards, including “Artist of the Year”.

They’ll then hit up Oxford Art Factory’s 17th Birthday Bash in Eora/Sydney on August 17, Blak Day Out in Meanjin/Brisbane on August 24, and From The Land Festival in Mparntwe/Alice Springs on August 31.

From there, they’ll head overseas, with two days of performances at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg on September 20-21. Then 3% will come back home, playing three more shows to close out the tour: Eora/Sydney’s Oxford Arts Factory on October 4, Naarm/Melbourne’s Workers Club on October 19, and Meanjin/Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge on October 31.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now.

Speaking to The Music on their new album, they said, “Most of [KILL THE DEAD] is a reflection of our people. There is a lot of pain there; there is a lot of trauma. But there’s also a lot of happiness, a lot of strength, a lot of joy and a lot of love and a lot of pride, and a lot of resilience…

“It’s like, ‘Yeah, we have dealt with this, and this has happened to us, and it’s not right. But we still find within ourselves the power to love and to be happy and allow ourselves to feel these emotions and try and break these generational curses and these fucking traumas and not pass it on to our kids… [So] it was like, ‘Let’s go to a place where a lot of that trauma and pain stems from and let’s show how far we’ve come and where we’re at now.'”
