UPDATE: 3rd body found in Sunland Park desert

An “exhaustive search” was conducted for a possible fourth person, but no one else was found.

Earlier, Sunland Park Fire recovered three bodies in the desert in less than a 24-hour period dating back to Monday night.

El Paso Fire spokesman Enrique Duenas says they conducted a wide search for a possible fourth person. That search included a Border Patrol helicopter.

A total of 12 fire units and 30 firefighters responded to the scene.

Duenas said that the people who died were likely migrants because of the location of the incident but that has not been confirmed yet.

The scene will be turned over to law enforcement after the search is concluded.
