SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe’s Environmental Service Division is asking for volunteers to help gather data on summer weather. The Urban Heat Island Mapping Campaign Grant has been awarded to Santa Fe through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
NOAA says the purpose of the study is to collect heat data which will provide the organization with accurate information on the heat experienced by those living in Santa Fe this summer. Volunteers will be given heat-sensing equipment that will attach to their car windows. Volunteers will drive around following pre-designed routes.
