LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) – Work on a new I-25 interchange in Los Lunas is expected to begin this fall. The village recently held a public meeting where officials outlined reasons why the interchange is needed. Some of those reasons include deficiencies in current roads, expected growth of the village, and congested traffic within village limits.
The interchange is expected to be installed near the Central New Mexico State Prison and stretch over to Highway 47 across the Rio Grande. Construction on the project’s first phase is expected to begin this fall, hoping to be completed by 2027. A public comment period on the project is open until this Wednesday.
