NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – At least two fires are burning on the Mescalero Apache Reservation near Ruidoso, New Mexico. One fire is burning near Gaines Well, south of Ruidoso. No other information has been released about the other fire mentioned in the Mescalero Apache Tribe’s Facebook post.

Due to the latest fires, the Mescalero Apache Tribe has issued evacuation orders for residents east of Botella Road and Apache Summit.
Residents at Chatto Ridge are on “ready” status.
The tribe’s evacuation center for Reservation residents is at the Community Center Gymnasium.
