Warmer temperatures and lower storm chances

Showers this morning are lingering across the state. However, it’s a much calmer start than previous days. Despite some Monsoon showers in northern areas and thunderstorms developing from The Gila National Forest to near The Metro, hotter and drier air will reign supreme. Burn-scar areas with ongoing fires will deal with that fire threat before the chance for flash flooding later in the day with heavy rain possible.

Temperatures continue to climb through the middle of next week, with highs back into the 90’s and 100’s for most of New Mexico. Very isolated storm chances will still be possible, with the driest days early this week. A more-pronounced monsoon pattern sets up again later this week, bringing increasing chances with strong wind gusts through the end of the week.
