Home Run Derby X will give locals a chance to compete with MLB Legends

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – If you are a male or female with the ability to hit a ball over 300 feet, Home Run Derby X wants you. When the event comes to Albuquerque in August, locals will be given a chance to compete with the major league baseball legends who will be participants in the event.

“Folks who think that, hey, I still play adult softball or I’m playing college baseball and I want to hit alongside and compete with or compete against people like Manny Ramirez. This is their opportunity to show us what they got,” said Albuquerque Isotopes General Manager John Traub.

The Isotopes are hosting the event on August 23 and will take applications from locals wanting to compete up to July 7. The Isotopes and Major League Baseball will work together to decide who is worthy. Tryouts will be held at Rio Grande Field at Isotopes Park on July 14. Participants will be narrowed down to finalist and contacted ahead of the event. If you are a male or female with the ability to hit a ball over 300 feet Home Run Derby X wants you.
