EUROPAfest 31 opens its doors on July 5 with the Opening Gala Concert – Jazz at the Palace on the stage of the Auditorium Hall of the Royal Palace, currently the National Art Museum of Romania. From 20:00 we will celebrate with well-known artists of the jazz scenes from Italy, Great Britain, Israel and Romania. The event takes place in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia. The headliner of the festival is one of the most awarded jazz artists, pianist and composer Luca Aletta from Italy. He created the new anthem of the festival and the public will have the opportunity to listen for the first time to the complete piece, performed by the composer. Also, 2024 being the centenary year of Puccini, the artist prepared a jazzy reinterpretation of the well-known opera aria Nessun Dorma. So it will be an evening like a festival, being a preview of what the organizers have prepared for you in the 31st edition.
Luigi Gageos, EUROPAfest director said: “We are on the last hundred meters with the preparations for this year’s festival. Only two days separate us from the opening Gala. Some have asked why we have two galas, but we start strong, with a large concert, with diverse artists, representative of different music markets of the whole world, with brand guests – royal heads, ambassadors. It’s an incredible display of strength and the audience’s appreciation motivates us every time. In addition, this year we have a new anthem and we have the honor of having its composer in Romania, who will perform the entire piece during the concert. We’re adding Puccini 100 and here’s how we revealed the surprises of the first day of the festival. I invite the Bucharest public and not only to enjoy jazz and classical rhythms at one of the most popular European festivals. Come on July 5 let’s say START EUROPAfest together!”
