LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Lincoln National Forest lifted all fire restrictions and reduced the fire danger rating to “moderate” on Wednesday.
Lincoln National Forest spokeswoman Amanda Fry said the changes come after “analysis of steady increased moisture levels and weather patterns and predictions for the area.”
Fry indicated that emergency area closures on the Smokey Bear Ranger District remain in effect, and will stay in place through August 23 unless rescinded. She also reiterated that fireworks are not allowed on federal lands
