Albuquerque man accused of driving drunk in fatal crash will stay behind bars

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man accused of killing another driver in a suspected drunk driving crash on Monday will be behind bars through his trial. According to the criminal complaint, Jesus Sandoval-Martinez sped through a red light near Coors and Moñtano hitting two vehicles, killing Tiger Gutierrez, and seriously injuring another person.


Pretrial detention filed for October 2023 murder suspects

The state filed for pretrial detention saying Sandoval-Martinez tried to run and had to be detained by witnesses at the scene. Judge Britt Baca granted the state’s motion. Sandoval-Martinez is facing numerous charges including homicide by vehicle DWI.
