“Live or die – make your choice!” Lionsgate has revealed a quick 30-second trailer for their upcoming 20th Anniversary re-release of the horror classic Saw. This is the one that started it all! The beginning of the franchise! The start of a whole new era of horror! Written by Leigh Whannell, and directed by James Wan, Saw originally debuted at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival before later opening in US theaters in October that year. Lionsgate bought the rights and created an entire franchise that has gone on for 10 movies already (Saw X last year). “20 years later and still ready for my close-up.” Saw celebrates 20 years with an Unrated nationwide theatrical release October 20 & 23, with bonus content featuring actor Tobin Bell discussing Saw fandom + playing John Kramer. Saw stars Leigh Whannell, Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, Monica Potter, Michael Emerson, and Ken Leung. Did anyone know there even was an “Unrated” version of this film? Huh.
