1 man dead, another injured after shooting near Canoga Park apartments

A shooting near some apartment buildings in Canoga Park killed one man and injured another, authorities said Sunday.

The shooting occurred at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday in the 8300 block of Northgate Avenue, near the intersection of Roscoe and Topanga Canyon boulevards, according to Officer Rosario Cervantes of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division.

Paramedics rushed both men to a hospital, where a 19-year-old man was pronounced dead and another man had stable vital signs.

The name of the man who died was not immediately released.

Police had no motive or suspect information.
