On September 24, WWE NXT had its finale on the USA Network. Amid this, an interesting backstage update has surfaced. The show kicked off with the NXT Women’s North American Championship match, where Kelani Jordan faced Wren Sinclair. Jorgan retained her title with the signature Split-Legged Moonsault. There was also an intriguing backstage moment involving CM Punk, Trick Williams, and Ethan Page, where Punk discussed his role as the special guest referee for this week’s NXT Championship match.

The show also featured The Grayson Waller Effect segment that stirred tension between Axiom and Nathan Frazer. The segment led to Grayson Waller and Austin Theory attacking the NXT Tag Team Championship Axiom and Nathan Frazer. Later on in the show, A-Town Down Under also defeated Cedric Alexander and Je’Von Evans, when Axiom and Frazer caused a distraction.

WWE NXT also saw Oro Mensah defeating Lexis King in a controversial finish. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger scored a victory over The O.C. Then, Ridge Holland faced Riley Osborne, where he defeated Osborne by pinfall. The show ended with a significant segment between Roxanne Perez and Giulia ahead of their WWE NXT Women’s Championship match. The segment was interrupted by Stephanie Vaquer, who appeared on the entrance screen and hinted to come for the winner.

This episode marked the last NXT episode on the USA Network, with the show moving to The CW Network starting October 1. A backstage report has now revealed that the final episode of NXT on the USA Network was almost pulled from the air.

WWE NXT finale on USA network almost taken off air

Stephanie Vaquer made her first WWE NXT TV appearance entrance screen via satellite. Although she made a significant impact during her debut, reports from Fightful Select reported that fans could have missed her first appearance.

According to these reports, the show’s extended runtime nearly caused the USA Network to pull the episode from the air. The finale concluded with only seconds remaining. Moreover, the final segment featuring NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and Giulia was interrupted by Stephanie Vaquer. Consequently, this disruption could have created a significant issue for the storyline.

Although nothing major occurred during the segment, Vaquer hinted that she would be coming for the winner between Perez and Giulia. NXT is now preparing to make its debut on The CW network this week. So, it remains to be seen what will unfold in the upcoming edition of NXT as it begins its new era on The CW Network.
