‘Good Music Month’ Announces First 200 Gigs on Thrilling New Line-up

Music SA has just announced the first array of thrilling events for this year’s Good Music Month, set to take place in November.

The annual state-wide open-access festival – which lasts for an entire month – plays a crucial role in expanding and promoting the profile of live music in South Australia by bestowing upon artists, venues, and industry professionals a worthy platform to exhibit their talents.

Good Music Month encompasses an eclectic and exciting range of live music experiences, from contemporary music performances in local pubs to grand-scale ticketed music festivals, opera, and orchestral concerts, all in the name of KEEPING MUSIC ALIVE.

2024 marks the second ever Good Music Month, after its 2023 iteration saw over 650 live music events and over 2000 artists participating.

Over 200 gigs in the program are now live, including both international acts – such as  Norway’s Leprous, USA’s Coheed And Cambria, and Tokyo rockers HANABIE – and local South Australian acts, such as Nancy Bates, Sawcy Paws, and Noriko Tadano.

Registrations to enter the event are still live, and will remain so right up until the end of October. In fact, for the first time ever, Good Music Month is offering free registrations, ensuring a diverse and inclusive range of talent will be showcased at the festival.

Christine Schloithe, CEO of Music SA, invites everyone to explore and support live music in their local communities: “Live music happens every day across South Australia, whether it’s community-based, professional, grassroots, or on the mainstage. We want audiences to know that artists are playing live music right in their backyard or just down the street.

“Good Music Month is here to celebrate and elevate ALL live music in South Australia throughout the entire month of November. Help us bring visibility to the live music in your community by registering for GoodMusic Month. Registration is free and open now. Let’s show the world just how much live music thrives around us–and let’s keep music live.”

South Australian Minister for Arts, Andrea Michaels MP said: “Good Music Month is back, bigger and better for the second year running to showcase South Australia’s extraordinary local music scene with the support of the Malinauskas Government. We’re celebrating live music right around the state and creating opportunities for musicians as well as shining a light on our dedicated live music and hospitality venues.”
