“You’re very young… I don’t want to hurt you.” Oh boy. A24 has revealed the sizzling official trailer for the erotic thriller film titled Babygirl, which originally premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival last month (and won Best Actress). Babygirl is the latest feature from Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn, following up her horror comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies recently. Written and directed by Reijn, Babygirl stars Nicole Kidman as a powerful CEO at a major corporation based in New York City. She begins an erotic affair with a hunky new intern who strolls through her company’s doors one day. The two explore an intimate sub-dom relationship as they both come to understand their own sexuality. Babygirl also stars Harris Dickinson, Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, Esther McGregor. This is a fantastic trailer and a clever marketing campaign (since it opens on Christmas Day) but I’m not the biggest fan of the film overall.
