The Highlander movie trailer is gaining traction on YouTube and social media, but it is not real. It features fake ai-generated footage involving the former Superman actor, who goes up against Dave Bautista. You can watch the fake trailer below:
It has been published by KH Studio, which is known for creating concept trailers for several upcoming movies. The above Highlander trailer is another such montage. But it isn’t official as the film hasn’t even begun production yet. However, Cavill is confirmed to lead the film when it eventually releases.
Will Henry Cavill’s Highlander come out in 2025?
Henry Cavill’s Highlander reboot isn’t likely coming out in 2025 as it will only begin production that year. Director Chad Stahelski confirmed that the movie will be shot in January 2025 in Scotland.
In an interview with Collider in June 2024, Stahelski said:
“We start shooting in January in Scotland, that’s why I go right after I leave. I go to Scotland on Monday to do the final location scout.”
Given that a major studio takes around 12-18 months to finish a big-budget film’s production and post-production stages, a 2025 release should not be expected for Highlander. Instead, an early to mid-2026 release window would be likelier as that would allow Stahelski and co ample time to finish the principal photography, VFX, and editing processes.
Before the Highlander remake, Cavill fans would be able to catch him in Guy Ritchie’s next action movie, In the Grey. It is expected to come out in 2025. Among Cavill’s other upcoming projects is Prime Video’s Warhammer 40,000 series. But that’s also far from its filming date at the moment of writing.
