Fans are wondering when Dancing with the Stars episode 3 will come on, since the weekly schedule for the show has been jumbled this week. The vice presidential debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance on Tuesday, October 1, has sadly forced the ballroom to close, which hasn’t happened often. Luckily, the producers of the dancing competition knew about this scheduling conflict for Season 33 well in advance, and they have a special planned to make up for it. Here’s when DWTS episode 3 will air on ABC in 2024.
What is the DWTS Episode 3 air date?
The air date for Dancing with the Stars Episode 3 for Season 33 is October 7, 2024. This kicks off a two-night, back-to-back event where Episode 4 will air the following day on October 8.
In an announcement that was easily missed in the show’s September 23 episode, DWTS host Alfonso Ribeiro explained that Episode 3 would be a “Soul Train night,” featuring music from the iconic dance show. This would be followed up by another show the next day that will celebrate the best hair metal songs of all time, mainly from the late ’70s to the ’80s.
Looking at the existing schedule for the show this season, the October 7 episode will be pre-taped and have no elimination. However, votes on that night will be carried over to the October 8 episode where there will be a single elimination.
The VP debate has also pushed back the premieres for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (with Pat Sajak still hosting), Press Your Luck, and What Would You Do? on ABC. They will begin airing in the week of October 14 instead.
Based on scores from Week 1 and Week 2, the top four couples on the show so far is Chandler Kinney & Brandon Armstrong, Dwight Howard & Daniella Karagach, Stephen Nedoroscik & Rylee Arnold, and Joey Graziadei & Jenna Johnson.
